A few more tips on iFrames (Part 3)

March 29, 2013

More on iFrames, hopefully this would be the last post talking on this.

You may often find the issue that if you want to click on links outside of the IFrame within the same webpage, you want the IFrame to redirect to that website still within the same web page, without having to redirect outside. E.g. if you have an IFrame inside your custom webpage with a top banner, and you have a link on the top banner that goes to the BBC site, you wish for the IFrame to go to the BBC site and not go outside of that to the site.

<a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk;">Go to BBC in IFrame</a>
.......

Here’s how:
<a target="targetBox" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk">Go to BBC site</a>

Have the IFrame <a target="targetBox" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk">Go to BBC site</a>

Have the IFrame a name for the a link tag to set a target to, and the IFrame will go to that site from within the same webpage.
