Remove the button “active” state in JQuery Mobile

May 22, 2013

If like me, you don’t want to use the data-theme=”b” default colour scheme for Jquery Mobile, removing this allow you to override your own custom schemes using background=”color” for example.

However there are nuances where JQuery Mobile would still use the blue colour scheme for some of its default settings in the background, and one of them that I found out is the “active” button state which is set to blue when you click the button which highlights to that colour. This can be removed by simply writing the following code

$(document).bind(‘mobileinit’, function() {
$.mobile.activeBtnClass = ‘aBtnSelector’;

Remember to set the script in between the JQuery js reference and the JQuery Mobile reference.
