Remove Duplicates from JavaScript Array

February 12, 2015

Here is a very useful and quick way to remove duplicates from a Javascript Array which I found from StackOverflow and it proves to be very useful for what I do.

var names = ["Mike","Matt","Nancy","Adam","Jenny","Nancy","Carl"];
var uniqueNames = [];
$.each(names, function(i, el){
    if($.inArray(el, uniqueNames) === -1) uniqueNames.push(el);
});
